Benefits to Consumers:
The use of complementary medicine in the USA is dramatically increasing.
By way of a survey, Dr. David Eisenberg found that the use of high-dose
vitamins and herbal products grew 130% and 380%, respectively from
1990 - 1997. The majority of people didn't tell their doctors about
this use. According to the survey, almost one in five people taking
prescription medicines also took herbal products, high-dose vitamins,
or both. This means, in general, that there are about 15 million adults
in the USA who could be at risk for potential interactions between their
prescription or OTC medications and dietary supplements. THIS COULD BE
YOU!
